Quantum Services’ Recruiter | Since 2023
Danielle Imlay, Quantum Services’ own in-house recruiter, has a passion for finding the right people to fit a role, whether that is in counting inventory or supervising a team.
Using her own highly attuned interpersonal skills, she connects with people across the United States to build a strong workforce for the leading company in inventory management for the convenience industry.
What was your journey to becoming a recruiter?
I graduated with a Bachelor of Psychology degree originally wanting to be a counselor. After deciding that I didn’t want to pursue counseling, my first job out of college was as an Executive Team Lead at Target. I later moved into a role as Operations Supervisor with LBrands but found that I wasn’t passionate about operations. Instead, I realized that I enjoyed working with and helping people. From that point, I started working with an agency as a recruiter, excelling at finding compatible jobs with the right people. Recruiting allows me to have conversations with all kinds of people as well as helping them find a job they enjoy.
What are the most important qualities you look for in a candidate?
People who demonstrate reliability, enthusiasm, a strong work ethic and are a team player are always great candidates, as well as those who show they are excellent at communication, are personable, positive, and hold themselves accountable.
Tell us about how your role supports the field team and its significance to filling positions.
For the field team, my goal is to find quality candidates for the Audit Supervisor roles. The Audit Supervisor’s focus is counting inventory at our client’s convenience store locations. This plays a huge role in the success of the audit process. By hiring quality versus quantity during the selections phase, the overall impact to field operations is seen in audit metrics, turnover, training, and budget.
What are you most proud of since starting this role?
Soon after starting with Quantum Services, I had the task of filling a Senior Operations Management position. Historically, Quantum Services has a lot of tenure in these roles, promoting from within. But due to growth, it required identifying top talent externally.
How would you describe Quantum Services’ culture?
It has a small, family-owned feel even though we have teams all over the US. It’s a supportive and open environment. I enjoy process improvement, so I really like receptiveness to new ideas and trying new things.
